Our Mission

To provide hope and a moment of respite through sharing meals made by chefs and restaurants with people facing difficulties in our community.

Community

We provide around 2,500 meals per month to people in need. We provide meals to families living in temporary accommodation, women taking refuge in sheltered accommodation, and families experiencing food poverty and inequality.

About us

Eat Well MCR is a social enterprise founded by Manchester chef and restaurateur Mary-Ellen McTague in April 2020 in response to the pandemic. Eat Well MCR partners with grassroots organisations, delivering meals to families experiencing homelessness, women taking refuge in sheltered accommodation, parents of children staying in hospital, food banks and schools supporting young people and families affected by food poverty. By October 2024, Eat Well MCR had provided over 130,000 meals across Greater Manchester.

  • "Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much". Eat Well MCR is about collective effort.
