October

    The Little Sri Lankan

    The Little Sri Lankan came to fruition during the lockdown of 2020 doing rice & curry packs. Then, in 2022, they started to do incredible Sri Lankan supper clubs.

    Join Melanie at Kampus for a fantastic evening of food and an insight into what Sri Lankan Cuisine is about, with Malanie talking through each dish and how each dish links to her family.

    Something More Productive with Rice Over Everything

    Something More Productive is an independent café and bar in South Manchester, serving a seasonal menu with a focus on local suppliers and community projects. May, from Rice Over Everything, has joined forces to bring her Burmese culinary expertise to thier offering. Burmese food is a vibrant fusion of spices and dishes influenced by Thailand, China, and India, featuring noodles, fresh salads, and curries.

    Hot Buttered, Knights BBQ and Odioba

    Manchester chef collective Hot Buttered team up with Knights BBQ & Odioba for a day of live fire cooking, cocktails and more at Kampus!

    Join Manchester chef collective Hot Buttered as they team up with Hulme legends Knights BBQ and Stockports' favourite audio bar, Odioba to throw a party at the Kampus Bungalow all in aid of Eat Well Manchester.

    Knights BBQ's infamous hand made smoker will be on site alongside more live fire cooking from the team at Hot Buttered. The tunes and cocktails will be powered by Odioba, who are bringing their bespoke hand built sound system plus a menu of cocktails to pair with Knights flavours of the Caribbean.

    Grab a ticket and head over between 2-9pm. You can buy amazing food and drink, enjoy the music and maybe even leave with new friends!

    Tartuffe

    Chef Gary Weir will take over the bungalow for a one off Sunday dinner with a magical 5 course menu:

    Welcome drink on arrival
    Hash brown, tartare of Highland beef, IPA pickled Norfolk shiitake, cured egg yolk
    Barbecued skewer of langoustine, monkfish and mussel, bouillabaisse, rouille
    Tartufflette of potato cooked in brandy, cream, Ogleshield cheese and smoked guanciale, with watercress and smoked garlic velouté, girolles, chicken dripping jus

    10 Tib Lane welcomes Bench

    10 Tib Lane invites Sheffield’s acclaimed Bench for a special one-night-only collaboration to raise funds for Eat Well MCR. Together, the chefs from both venues will create a menu that highlights the best seasonal produce and showcases their combined culinary expertise.

    Don’t miss this unique opportunity to experience a memorable evening, supporting a great cause while enjoying the finest in seasonal dining.

    A Hospitality Forum - Diversity and Inclusion in food, wine and hospitality,

    Guest speakers Kimberly McBride (SuppHER), Daneche Ballintine (Soho House), Alex Oakshott (Hallgarten Wines) and Georgie Hewitt (Where the Light Gets In) will discuss their experiences as women in the industry, and explore ways we can help transform the industry a place where women and other under-respresented genders can actually thrive.

    There will be a panel discussion and Q&A followed by a social with wine and chats, kindly sponsored by Hallgarten Wines.

    NB - this forum is for all people working in hospitality, wine service, or hospitality recruitment with an interest in Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. Whilst the conversation is focused on the experiences of women and underrespresented genders in the industry, all are welcome to attend and contribute.

    A supper from chef Keaton Cooper. Keaton is an experienced chef with a background in Michelin-starred restaurants, including The Angel at Hetton and Moor Hall. He uses his expertise to curate a delicious and satisfying meal for every guest.

    Hello Oriental

    Hello Oriental, the acclaimed Manchester street-food hall, offers an uncensored East Asian culinary journey across three floors. On opening it received rave reviews, including high praise from The Times’ Marina O’Loughlin. In this one-off pop-up event diners can expect authentic Cantonese dishes, beloved favourites from across East Asia with drinks to match.

    Gwafu Vegan

    Founder and chef Ngwafu is pulling out all the stops for her biggest supper club yet! Showcasing the best of Cameroonian cuisine. Think West African flavours using the best of British seasonal ingredients.

    Black eye bean tofu with a Cameroon pepper and fermented pinecone glaze, puffed red rice and pickled wild garlic capers

    Ekwang dressed with vegetable xo oil topped with pickled shallots

    Party Jollof rice topped with suya grilled mushrooms

    Golden Puff puff cake, fermented elderberries and whipped tigernut crème fresh

    This is plant based cooking elevated, putting the planet first without sacrificing on flavour.

    Calcio with Caroline Martins

    Born from the culinary creativity of MasterChef and Great British Menu star Caroline Martins, this Le Cordon Bleu graduate is now leading the way behind the scenes, elevating cult classic street food with her fine dining expertise. Calcio, located in the Northern Quarter, is a retro gaming and sports bar, where each booth features its own gaming console—from Mega Drive and SNES to PS1, N64, PS2, Xbox Original, PS3, and Xbox 360 (Kiosk).

    Join us for a special Steak & Wine Night at Calcio with Caroline Martins.


    Menu:
    Dry-Aged Barbecued Ribeye Steak (400g)
    Served with a bottle of Argentinian Malbec, fries, salad, and peppercorn sauce.

    Ceramic Supper

    Hosted by chef Holly Sumner and ceramicist Frida Cooper. 

    Showcasing a seasonal, locally sourced menu in collaboration with handmade plates to celebrate wonderful food, good company and hand crafted products.

    This supper club will include 4 courses by Holly, all served on Frida’s hand crafted ceramics. There will also be an alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks menu available at an additional price on the night featuring beers from Track, natural wines from Isca and homemade cordials from Holly.

    SuppHER

    Anna Søgaard and Kim McBride founded suppher in 2019, they met whilst working together at Erst in Ancoats, Manchester. Anna is known for her time as sous chef at Erst, followed by her role as head chef at Bistro Freddie and Kim is the former sommelier at both Erst and The Creameries, now working in the Social Housing sector.

    Suppher is collaborating with; Hannah Rose Hall (Pearl at Parkhill), Sian Wilson (NORD), Beccy Corcoran (Where The Light Gets In) for this special Suppher edition, curating a special four-course lunch with an optional wine pairing.

    The event will showcase the talents of women in hospitality with a focus on seasonal food, sustainable produce and low-intervention wines.

Fundraising initiatives across the city!

  • 10 Tib Lane

    As well as an exciting dinner with Bench, our friends at 10 Tib Lane are also donating £1 for every tart sold!

  • Chorlton Cheesemongers

    A regular supporter of Eat Well MCR, Chorlton Cheesemongers will be running something special to support the East Well, Do Good Festival this October. Details coming soon!

  • Erst and Pip

    The legendary Ancoats restaurant and wine bar, Erst, is collaborating with Pip—the highly anticipated restaurant from chef Mary-Ellen McTague, set to open in the new Tree House hotel in Manchester.


    Both Mary-Ellen and Patrick Withington are celebrated for their use of seasonal produce and expert cooking skills to create incredible dishes.

    Mary-Ellen and Patrick have collaborated to make an exclusive dish that well be served at Erst between the 22n and 26th of October with proceeds from the dish being donated to Eat Well.

    The Dish
    Cold smoked chalk stream trout with fermented green tomatoes yogurt and rye crumb.

  • Factory Coffee

    Factory Coffee are doing a great offer for the week of October 21st - 27th. Come back soon to find out all about it!

  • Fenix

    Beautiful, modern Greek restaurant Fenix are adding an optional donation to bills, which they have generously offered to match.

  • Great North Pie Co. with Higher Ground

    For Eat Well Do Good week, Great North Pie Co are teaming up with Joe Otway of Higher Ground to create a version of their famous Oxtail Madrasty, a dish from the Higher Ground Kampus residency back in 2020.

    This magnificent sounding version will be a suet pudding, served with chips and curry sauce, and available from Wednesday 23rd to Sunday 27th October in their Kampus cafe.

  • Hawksmoor Manchester

    Our friends at Hawksmoor have an optional £2 on their menu that is a direct donation to Eat Well. Just £2 pays for a meal for someone in need.

    Additionally, Hawksmoor is hosting a lunch for a group of young people to attend during Eat Well, Do Good week, in partnership with Eat Well MCR. This is part of a programme of experiences organised by Eat Well for young people in Greater Manchester facing challenges.

  • Hello Oriental

    In addition to the pop-up supper club at Kampus (see above) Hello Oriental is donating £1 sales of all non-frozen cocktails throughout the whole of the Eat Well, Do Good Festival week!

  • Henry C

    Famed Chorlton cocktail bar Henry C will be donating £1 from every sale of their best selling cocktail for the duration of Eat Well Do Good week.

  • Honest Crust

    Honest Crust have planned a mystery collab pizza which will be available at all their outlets - Mackie Mayor, Market House Altrincham and at the Runaway Brewery in Stockport.

    Honest Crust are still refining the details but previous collaborators include Things Palace, ISCA, Mughli and Tawny Stores so it's set to be something special!

  • Isca

    Amazing, Levenshulme-based wine bar & bottle shop will be doing an optional £1 donation on the bill for 21st - 27th Oct

  • KIOSK

    KIOSK are fundraising throughout Eat Well Do Good week at their Didsbury coffee and baked goods hatch.

  • Long Bois Bakehouse

    Visit Long Bois Bakehouse in Levy from 21st - 27th October and help celebrate their 4th birthday with a slice of Big Fun Birthday Traybake - expect lots of sprinkles! All proceeds donated to Eat Well MCR

  • Madre

    Mexican eatery at Kampus, Madre will be donating money from sales of water.

  • Maray

    As well as continuing the optional donation on their menu, our friends at Maray have come up with a super Special dish for Eat Well Do Good week.

    Visit from 21st - 27th Oct to try this exclusive offer - and receive a printed recipe card so you can try it again when you get home.

  • The Marriott Hotel Piccadilly

    The newly refurbished in-house restaurant at Manchester Marriott Hotel Piccadilly is delighted to support the Eat Well, Do Good Festival this October. From afternoon tea to restaurant dining, a £1 surcharge will be added to all bills from the 21st to 27th October, with proceeds going towards this meaningful cause. You’re welcome to book or simply walk in.

  • Medlock Canteen

    Donating proceeds from their special menu item “staff dinner” all week long. Every day, the kitchen team cooks up a staff dinner—think comfort food your nan would be proud of or something you’d throw together at home (with a Medlock Canteen twist). Some days, it’s a flaky, hearty pie; other days, it’s Ruby’s famous pasta, or sometimes even Sunday dinner’s leftovers. 

  • Off The Press

    Off the Press are asking customers to add an optional £1 donation when placing their order.

    Swan street legends Ramona are going to be doing a special pizza for the duration of the festival with a donation to Eat Well MCR built into the cost of the pizza!

    Refuge will be adding an optional £2 donation to bills
